Amateur Talent Contest

**Registration Due Friday, July 18, 2025**
1. The contest is open to all individual or group amateur entertainers. Professionals are not permitted to enter
2. Interested entertainers are required to submit an official entry form
3. There is a 5-minute time limit for each act
4. CD’s or phones that an aux. cord can be plugged into may be used as accompaniment for dance acts, baton, lip sync, etc. Vocalists may use instrumental taped accompaniment only; no backup vocals allowed.
5. A skilled board of judges will be engaged, and the decision of the judges will be final. Contestants are judged on quality of performance, stage presence, entertainment value and selection. Entrants will perform for judging on stage in Entertainment Square on Saturday beginning at 10.00am.
6. Please arrive 30 minutes before the show.
7. Prizes in the amateur talent contest are:
Open Division (Ages 19+) 1st -- $75, 2nd -- $50, 3rd -- $25
Teen Division (13-19) 1st -- $75, 2nd -- $50, 3rd -- $25
Pre-Teen Division (12 & under) 1st -- $75, 2nd -- $50, 3rd -- $25
The winning entry in each division will be automatically entered as a semi-finalist representing Scott County in the
Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest. The State Fair offers cash prizes and trophies for nightly winners and
finalists. All contestants will be awarded place and/or participation ribbons.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Outstanding Scott County Senior Volunteer
Do you know of a Scott County Senior Volunteer Citizen who excels at giving their time back to the community? Submit their name for the award of Outstanding Scott County Senior! The awards ceremony to honor the winners is on the Friday of the fair at 3:30 PM at the Fair Gazebo. Two winners in Scott County will be honored at the fair and are then invited to compete for the Outstanding Minnesota Senior Volunteer Award at the Minnesota State Fair.
The person being nominated must meet the following criteria:
- Be active in the community, volunteering their time and talents for others.
- Be a resident of Scott County
- Be age 70+Â

Campaign Sign Contract
It is agreed to that the Scott County Fair will lease to the party named on this document a choice of either:
- Three (3) 2ft. x 4ft (maximum size) interior fence spaces and three (3) 2ft. x 4ft outer perimeter fence spaces for campaign posters (6 signs total). These should be lawn-type signs with copy and/or a likeness of the candidate or party. The signs will be affixed in their locations by the named party or representatives of the named party. (6 signs total)

- Four (4) 18in. X 24in. interior fence spaces and four (4) 18in. x 24in. exterior perimeter fence spaces (8 signs total).
SIGNS MAY NOT BE PUT NEAR THE INSIDE OF THE NE CORNER OF THE FAIRGROUNDS OR WITHIN 15 FEET OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE GATE ON THE SOUTH END OF THE PARKING LOT.
The cost for either size signage option will be one hundred dollars in advance ($100.00). Signs are to be removed by Tuesday 12:00 noon, or Fair management will dispose of them.
